A SEASON INSIDE THE HOUSE

the return

SIX WOMEN. WINTER TO SPRING.

A world built around what is asking to become possible.

a quieter recognition

There is this moment in life when you realise you know yourself all too well.

You know the patterns.

You know what you are good at. What you avoid. What everyone relies upon you for. You can probably explain rather convincingly why your life looks the way it does.

And still, something keeps nagging at your subconscious.

An idea.
A desire.
A curiosity.
A version of you that has never quite had the conditions to become real.

You do not necessarily want to leave your life, you may rather like it. You simply wonder what else might be possible inside it.

That is where The Return begins.

Not with a problem. With a possibility.

You cannot think your way into possibility.

At some point, you have to enter it.

Oh, how I love thinking though.

I have made a career out of seeing things, making connections, solving problems and helping other people see what they cannot quite see for themselves.

Thinking is enormously useful.

Until you are trying to discover something that does not exist yet. Then you need other information.

A place you would not normally go. A conversation you would not normally have. Someone else's mind on your problem. A strange experiment. An afternoon with no obvious function. Pleasure, occasionally for no defensible reason whatsoever.

This is The Return.

This is not about crisis.

Midlife or otherwise.

Although life, being life, may certainly throw a few of those your way.

The Return is for the woman who has built something real. A life, a career, a body of work, a family, a reputation, a point of view.

She does not necessarily want to abandon any of it, but somewhere inside that life is something more to come. Perhaps the pressure to figure out what that more is has started creeping in. Which can be surprisingly difficult when technically nothing needs fixing.

A curiosity she has not followed.
An idea that keeps returning.
A creative impulse she cannot quite justify.

A sense that there is more of herself available than the current architecture of her life allows her to experience. She does not need to know what it is.

She only needs to be curious enough to find out.

She does not want a whole new life.

She rather likes the one she has built. She simply wants to feel present inside it again. To catch a glimpse of the way she felt when she first set off on this wild adventure.

More pleasure.
More intimacy.
More curiosity.
More beauty.
More room.
More of herself.

And perhaps something she has not imagined yet.

You do not have to be unhappy to want more.

I think that is an important thing to say. You can love your life and still want to experience it differently.

WINTER/UMBRIA/SPRING

One journey in three movements.

01 / WINTER

First,

we pay attention

What keeps returning?
What are you curious about?
What do you want before you make it reasonable?
What feels oddly alive?
What have you never given yourself permission to take seriously?

Winter begins privately. You and me. We look closely at the life you are actually living and the thing underneath it that is asking for room.

I begin building your world from there.
Research. Questions. People. References. Experiments. Invitations. No requirement yet to know where any of it is going.

curiosity comes before conclusion.

02 / UMBRIA

And then, we leave.

You cannot help but fall a little bit in love with this place.

Nature at its best. Slightly rough around the edges. Welcoming you with an air of I couldn't care less.

I came here when I was twenty-four, a two-year-old in tow, and somehow found a home. It has been teaching me things ever since. Not particularly efficiently, which may be part of the point.

Casa is not a retreat centre. It is a house.

It is magical.
It is not particularly easy to get to.
It is worth the journey.

This is where I come to remember.

Things have happened here.

People have arrived. Stayed too long. Fallen in love. Argued. Cooked. Changed their minds. Raised children. Opened bottles. Made things. Left things behind.

t is beautiful without behaving particularly beautifully. And during The Return, it becomes ours for a few days.

Not as a backdrop. As part of the experiment.

The house, the landscape, the food, the weather, the rooms, the people I bring into them and the things we decide to do become part of the world I am building around the six women who come.

Stay at the table too long.

come back

Disappear for a while.

The days have a shape. They do not have a script.

There will be things I plan very carefully, and things I deliberately do not.

A conversation over espresso. A person invited to lunch because of something one of you said the night before. A walk that becomes more useful than the session we had planned. An afternoon alone.

Something to make.
Somewhere to go.
A table we stay at far too long.

Notice the light dappling through the windows onto the rugs. The candelabras dripping wax long after dinner should have ended. The china cup in your hand as you wander through the gardens. Rosemary and sage at your side. Mentuccia pressed beneath your feet. Sit beneath the olive tree and look across the hills. Come back inside when you smell lunch.

Stay at the table too long. Have another glass. Walk. Talk. Disappear for a while. Come back.

For a few days, possibility has somewhere physical to live.

THE COMPANY YOU KEEP

SIX WOMEN, DIFFERENT QUESTIONS.

The Return is deeply individual work done in the company of other women. You are not all here to solve the same problem, thank God. One woman's question may be about work. Another may be following something creative. Another may not yet know what she is following at all. That difference is useful.

Sometimes someone else can see your situation more clearly because she has no history inside it. Sometimes helping another woman think through her question shows you something about your own. Sometimes you have precisely the experience, reference, skill or connection she needs. And sometimes it is simply a relief to discover that everybody else is making it up too.

The group is not the programme. It is another way of seeing.

03 / SPRING

And then you go home.

THE WORLD DOES NOT DISAPPEAR.

THE INBOX
THE MEETINGS
THE FAMILY
THE RESPONSIBILITIES

The people who apparently cannot locate anything without your direct involvement.

Everything that was there before is still there. But perhaps you are looking at it from a different angle. Spring is where the experiment enters life.

We test.
We meet.
We make.
We discard things.
We follow unexpected openings.
We pull other people into the work when useful.

Some ideas disappear, others become impossible to ignore, and somewhere along the way, something begins to take form. Not because I decided in January what you were supposed to become.

Because we discovered it together.

And when we come out the other side, something different exists.

We keep following the thread.

IS THIS YOUR SEASON?

There is something you would like to find out.

Perhaps you can name it, perhaps you can’t.

Perhaps it is an idea that keeps returning, a piece of work you want to make, a different way of living, a curiosity you have never given enough room, or simply the suspicion that there is more of you available.

You do not need to know where it leads. Actually, that would rather spoil the adventure. The Return opens once each year for six women.

Not because six sounds exclusive.
Because I want to know what each of you is thinking about, reading, avoiding, wanting, making, noticing and becoming curious about.

I want enough room to follow the thread with you.

THE 2026/27 return

EVERY MOMENT, EVERY OBJECT HAS A FUNCTION.

i. Personal preparation

A private opening session with Chandra, your Return Room, a personal reading of where you are now, and the first questions, references and experiments that will shape your journey.

ii. The Winter practice

Private work begins before Umbria. We start following the thread through conversation, observation, research and lived experiments in your actual life.

iii. the Umbria immersion

Several days centred around Casa Mentuccia. The days are curated around the six women and what is emerging: conversation, place, food, solitude, sensory experience, people, making, walking, pleasure and unexpected detours.

iv. the Spring practice

You return home and we keep working. Private sessions, group encounters, back-pocket support, introductions, references and experiments help you test what is becoming possible in real life.

v. Something tangible

By the end of the season, something has crossed from possibility into form. A decision, project, body of work, new rhythm, collaboration, object, proposition, beginning, or something else we could not have predicted at the start.

What the return holds:

WINTER TO SPRING

A private and collective passage in three movements: Winter, Umbria and Spring.

MY PRIVATE ATTENTION

Close one-to-one work with me across the passage. I am following the inquiry with you, not delivering a predetermined curriculum.

YOUR RETURN ROOM

A living private space for what we are noticing, researching, testing, reading, meeting and making.

A WORLD BUILT AROUND THE INQUIRY

References, conversations, introductions, experiments, places and provocations chosen in response to what is actually emerging.

THE RETURN KIT

A physical collection of objects, materials and sensory cues created for the season. Some practical. Some beautiful. Some slightly strange. Each chosen to interrupt habit, spark curiosity or bring the work off the screen and into your actual life.

THE UMBRIA PARENTHESIS

Several days centred at Casa Mentuccia, created specifically around the six women who come.

SIX WOMEN

A carefully composed group whose different experiences and perspectives become part of the work.

BACK-POCKET SUPPORT

A private channel between sessions for the observation that arrives on a Tuesday morning, the photograph you suddenly want me to see, the decision you are about to make, or the thing that becomes obvious before our next scheduled conversation.

LIVED EXPERIMENTS

Bespoke practices and experiments. Things to try in your actual life so we can discover what remains true outside the conversation.

INTRODUCTIONS AND REFERENCES

When useful, I may bring people, places, books, makers, specialists, ideas or unexpected references into your world. The point is not advice for advice’s sake. It is to give the possibility more material to work with.

SOMETHING MADE REAL

A tangible expression of what emerged through the passage. Different for every woman.

YOUR RETURN BOOK

A beautifully made record of the passage: where we began, what we followed, what you encountered, what surprised you, what became real and what you now know you want to carry forward.

It contains the references, experiments, observations, photographs, fragments and discoveries that made up your particular Return.

A record of a world you entered, and what you brought back.

FOUNDING INVESTMENT

winter 2026—summer 2027

SIX WOMEN

umbria DURING JOURNEY

€6,000

This is a curated, bespoke experience for women who are ready to live life differently.

The first Return is being offered as a founding edition. Six women will enter the work at its beginning and inevitably help shape what it becomes.

The founding investment reflects that. Future editions will reflect the depth of curation, private attention and bespoke work involved in creating each Return.

what is the last room you entered that changed something in you before anyone said a word?
